Take a look at Amy's fabulous tropical Sapphire dress
Today I’m excited to re-introduce to the blog my dear friend Amy, who long-time readers will recognize as a frequent pattern MBR model and guest of the blog. Amy absolutely loves sewing and indie patterns and I have to say, I’m not sure I’ve ever met a person more supportive of the indie sewing community like Amy. Every time I show her a new design, she seems to have the perfect fabric from our local(ish) indie-owned shop (shoutout Seams!) to sew it. She has a great eye for fabrics and always chooses prints that match her fun, outgoing personality. She has also been so supportive and encouraging to me as I’ve added plus sizes and updated older patterns to be more size-inclusive, which I so appreciate.
Amy made this stunning version of Sapphire as one of the makers in our Sapphire preview tester group:
Here’s what Amy had to say about her Sapphire:
“I chose the dress version of the Sapphire and, based on my measurements, cut a straight size H using the larger chest pattern piece. This dress pattern is perfect for a flowy fabric. I selected a cotton/rayon stretch woven with a punchy leaf print, purchased at Field’s Fabrics in Grand Rapids, MI. I added half-inch mother-of-pearl buttons for a soft, romantic look to complement the design. The Sapphire can be dressed up or down and will definitely be my go-to for polished spring and summer looks! “
Thank you so much for previewing Sapphire, Amy! This leafy dress is absolutely fabulous and I am so glad you were part of our testing group!!
